Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius ★★½ 2004 (PG)

Bloated homage to the late great golfer of the title starring a red-hot post-”Passion” Caviez-el. Practically a natural, Jones, who still reigns as the only golfer to win all four major tournaments in a single calendar year, had to overcome a number of personal demons to become one of the greatest golfers in the world. An extremely moral man, Jones suffered from depression and sported a legendary temper that he battled in order to work his way to the top of golf world of the 1920s. After his Grand Slam coup, Jones was diagnosed with a spinal disorder and retired from golf at 28 to practice law and spend more time with wife Mary (Forlani). Historically faithful and elegant, with a fine performance by its star, but is hindered by sub-par script, for-mulaic plot, and undeveloped supports. 126m/C DVD .
