Courage of Lassie
Courage of Lassie ★★½ Blue Sierra 1946 (G)
Fourteen-year-old Taylor is the heroine in this girl loves dog tale. In this case, the dog is actually called Bill, not Lassie, in spite of the film's title. Bill is found wounded by Taylor and she nurses him back to health. He proves to be loving, loyal, and useful, so much so that, through a complicated plotline, he winds up in the Army's K-9 division and returns home with the doggie version of shell-shock. Taylor's still there to nurse him back to his old kind self again. 93m/C VHS, DVD . Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Morgan, Tom Drake, Selena Royle, Harry Davenport, Arthur Walsh; D: Fred M. Wilcox.
