Dead Letter Office
Dead Letter Office ★★½ 1998
Lonely Alice (Otto) gets a job at the dead letter office of the postal system. Her boss is Frank (DelHoyo), a political refugee from Chile, who lost his family to the junta. Frank and Alice seem destined to hit it off but not before a few obstacles get in their path. Otto's father Barry has a brief scene as Alice's irresponsible dad. More distinctive than the story might indicate, thanks to the performances and tart comedy. 95m/ C VHS . AU Miranda Otto, George DelHoyo, Nicholas Bell, Syd Brisbane, Georgina Naidu, Vanessa Steele, Barry Otto; D: John Ruane; W: Deb Cox; C: Ellery Ryan; M: Roger Mason.
