The stage's longest-running musical gets the big screen treatment with a story about two fathers (Grey and Hughes) who decide to match make for their children Matt (McIntyre) and Luisa (Kelly). They hire the members of a traveling carnival (called the Fantasticks) to kidnap Luisa, so that Matt can play the hero and rescue her. The plan seems to work but the course of true love never runs that smoothly. Adapted by Jones and Schmidt from their play. 86m/C VHS, DVD .
