Happy Go Lovely
Happy Go Lovely ★★ 1951
Chorus girl Janet (Vera-Ellen) is part of an American troupe that's in Scotland hoping to open a show. Producer Frost (Romero) needs financial backing and, after seeing Janet exit a limo, thinks she's found a rich beau and offers her the show's lead in hopes of getting her boyfriend's money. When the limo's owner, stodgy millionaire B.G. Bruno (Niven), does show up, Janet mistakes him for a reporter and falls in love with the guy. Tired plot, but good performances in this lightweight musical. ♫One-Two-Three; Would You, Could You; London Town. 95m/C VHS, DVD . GB Sandra Dorne, Vera-Ellen, David Niven, Cesar Romero, Bobby Howes; D: H. Bruce Humberstone; W: Val Guest; C: Erwin Hillier; M: Mischa Spoliansky.
