The Hills Have Eyes 2006
The Hills Have Eyes ★½ 2006 (R)
Unnecessary remake of Wes Craven's 1977 lunaticfest. Not much has been altered in way of the storyline—family stranded in the desert with a pack of inbred killers on their tail, but this time around there's an actual budget. Most of it's blown on fake blood. Slick and humorless, desperate to cash in on the (hopefully) short-lived sadism genre resurrected by Rob Zombie. Thanks, Rob. 107m/C DVD, UMD . US Aaron Stanford, Emilie de Ravin, Vinessa Shaw, Kathleen Quinlan, Ted Levine, Desmond Askew, Dan Byrd, Tom Bower, Billy Drago, Robert Joy, Michael Bailey Smith, Laura Ortiz; D: Alexandre Aja; W: Gregory Levasseur; C: Maxime Alexandre; M: Tomandandy.
