The New Centurions
The New Centurions ★★½ 1972 (R)
Rookies training for the Los Angeles Police Department get the inside info from retiring cops. Gritty and realistic drama based on the novel by former cop Joseph Wambaugh. Tends to be disjointed at times, but overall is a good adaptation of the bestseller. Scott, excellent as the retiring beat-walker, is supported well by the other performers. 103m/C VHS . George C. Scott, Stacy Keach, Jane Alexander, Scott Wilson, Erik Estrada, James B. Sikking; D: Richard Fleischer; W: Stirling Silliphant; M: Quincy Jones.
