Rocky Balboa ★★½ 2006 (PG)

The Italian Stallion finds himself put out to pasture after the demise of his boxing glory days and the death of his wife (whose name graces the restaurant he now runs)—until a computer simulation predicts that the 50-something former champ would beat the current heavyweight title holder, Mason “The Line” Dixon (Tarver). The new bout stirs up all that was good about the olden days—the music, the punching bag, and those infamous muse- um steps. But what about Rocky's previous brain damage? Why is Rocky Jr. (Ventimiglia) so whiny? Are those muscles or implants? None of it seems to matter in this somewhat cheer-worthy effort that doesn't embarrass the franchise as much as the previous outing did. 101m/C DVD, Blu-ray Disc . US Sylvester Stallone, Burt Young, Milo Ventimiglia, Tony Burton, Antonio Tarver, Geraldine Hughes, A.J. Benza, James Francis Kelly III, Henry Sanders, Lahmard Tate, Pedro Lovell, Ana Gerena; D: Sylvester Stallone; W: Sylvester Stallone; C: Clark Mathis; M: Bill Conti.
