Santa Sangre
Santa Sangre ★★★ 1990 (R)
A circus in Mexico City, a temple devoted to a saint without arms, and a son who faithfully dotes upon his armless mother are just a few of the bizarre things in this wildly fantastic film. Fenix acts as his mother's arms, plays the piano for her, and carries out any wish she desires—including murder. Visually intoxicating but strange outing may prove too graphic for some viewers. Not as rigorous as other Jodorowsky outings. Also available in an NC17 version. 123m/C VHS . IT MX Axel Jodorowsky, Sabrina Dennison, Guy Stockwell, Blanca Guerra, Thelma Tixou, Adan Jodorowsky, Faviola Tapia, Jesus Juarez; D: Alejandro Jodorowsky; W: Robert Leoni, Claudio Argento, Alejandro Jodorowsky; C: Danielle Nannuzzi; M: Simon Boswell.
