Shadowlands ★★★ C.S. Lewis Through the Shadowlands 1985
A look at the later life of bachelorscholar C.S. Lewis (also the author of the “Chronicles of Narnia”). A devout proponent of Christianity, the middleaged Lewis fell in love and married Joy Gresham, a divorced American poet with two young sons. Joy was diagnosed with cancer and her illness provided Lewis with the clearest test of his faith. Wonderful performances by both Ackland and Bloom. 90m/C VHS . GB Joss Ackland, Claire Bloom, Rupert Baderman; D: Norman Stone.
