Spooks Run Wild
Spooks Run Wild ★★ ½ 1941
The East Side Kids seek refuge in a spooky mansion owned by the eerie Lugosi. A fun horror-comedy with the Kids' antics playing off Lugosi's scariness quite well. Co-scripter Carl Foreman later cowrote “High-Noon,” “The Bridge on the River Kwai,” and “The Guns of Navarone.” Not the same movie as “Ghosts on the Loose” which followed in '43 and also featured Lugosi and the Kids. 64m/B VHS, DVD . Huntz Hall, Leo Gorcey, Bobby Jordan, Sammy (Earnest) Morrison, Dave O'Brien, Dennis Moore, Bela Lugosi; D: Phil Rosen; W: Carl Foreman.
