Steal Big, Steal Little ★★ 1995 (PG-13)

Twins Robby and Reuben Martinez (Garcia) battle over the California ranch land left to Reuben by their mother. Evil, manipulative Robby, all fancy suits and slicked-back hair, wants to build condos while gentle, less-fashionable Reuben must fight to fulfill his dream of building a home for the migrant workers he employs. Yawn. Writer/director Davis' flashy action movie technique doesn't fit into the dramatic social commentary—it's too fast and forced to work. Garcia's radical character changes are impressive though. Arkin provides comic relief as the good-hearted used-car dealer who tries to save the day, if not the film. 130m/C VHS, DVD . Andy Garcia, Alan Arkin, Rachel Ticotin, Joe Pantoliano, David Ogden Stiers, Charles Rocket, Holland Taylor; D: Andrew Davis; W: Lee Blessing, Jeanne Blake, Terry Kahn, Andrew Davis; C: Frank Tidy; M: William Olvis.
