Trippin'
Trippin' ★★ 1999 (R)
Gregory (Richmond) is a daydreamer who can't keep his mind on his studies until he finds out that the prom queen, Cinny (Campbell), goes for the brainy type. Between fantasies of fame, fortune, and exotic locales, Gregory, with the help of his ne'erdowell buddies Fish (Torry) and June (Faison), tries to improve his grades and get her to the prom. Likeable cast and a nice message about the importance of getting an education balance out a gratuitous subplot about a local crime boss recruiting June. Lightweight but amusing. 92m/C VHS, DVD . Deon Richmond, Maia Campbell, Donald Adeosun Faison, Guy Torry, Harold Sylvester, Stoney Jackson, Michael Warren, Aloma Wright, Bill Henderson; D: David Raynr; W: Gary Hardwick; C: John Aronson.
