Bandrowska-Turska, Eva

Bandrowska-Turska, Eva, Polish soprano; b. Kraków, May 20, 1897; d. Warsaw, June 25, 1979. She studied with her uncle, Alexander Bandrowski-Sas, then took further instruction with Helena Zboinska-Ruszkowska. She made her debut as a concert singer in 1919, and subsequently appeared in opera; in later years she gained distinction as a solo singer, excelling particularly as a congenial interpreter of the songs of Debussy, Ravel, Roussel, and Szymanowski.
