Bendler, Salomon

Bendler, Salomon, famous German bass, son of Johann Philipp Bendeler; b. Quedlinburg, 1683; d. Braunschweig, 1724. He studied with his father, then sang throughout Germany and Italy, and later made appearances in London (1712–17). Upon his return to Germany, he became a chamber singer at the court in Braunschweig, where he remained until his death.
