Bragard, Roger, Belgian musicologist; b. Huy, Nov. 21, 1903; d. Brussels, Dec. 15, 1985. He studied philology at the Univ. of Liège, then went to Paris, where he studied musicology with Pirro and composition with d’Indy. Returning to Belgium, he taught music history at the Brussels Cons. He publ. the valuable Histoire de la musique belge (3 vols., 1946, 1949, 1956).
