Erben, (Johann) Balthasar
Erben, (Johann) Balthasar, German composer; b. Danzig, 1626; d. there (buried), Oct. 3, 1686. After travels in Germany, the Netherlands, England, France, and Italy (from 1653), he returned to Danzig in 1658 as city Kapellmeister, a position he retained for the remainder of his life. He was admired as a composer of sacred concertos.
