Eulenburg, Ernst (Emil Alexander)
Eulenburg, Ernst (Emil Alexander) , German music publisher, father of Kurt Eulenburg; b. Berlin, Nov. 30, 1847; d. Leipzig, Sept. 11, 1926. He studied at the Leipzig Cons. In 1874 he established in Leipzig the publishing house bearing his name, and after his acquisition of Payne’s Kleine Partitur-Ausgabe (1891), he enormously increased the scope of that publication so that large orch. scores could be included. Upon his death the firm was taken over by his son.
