Faignient, Noë , Flemish composer; b. c. 1540; d. Antwerp, c. 1595. He settled in Antwerp, where he was made a citizen in 1561 and was active as a music teacher. He publ. Chansons, madrigales et motetz for 4 to 6 voices (Antwerp, 1568). Other works were publ. in contemporary collections, and some have appeared in modern eds.
