Geyer, Stefi
Geyer, Stefi, Hungarian-born Swiss violinist and teacher; b. Budapest, Jan. 28, 1888; d. Zürich, Dec. 11, 1956. She studied with Hubay at the Royal Academy of Music in Budapest, and also toured in Europe and the U.S. at an early age. In 1919 she settled in Zurich and married Walter Schulthess. She taught at the Zürich Cons. (1923-53). She was an object of passion on the part of Bartók, who wrote a violin concerto for her (1907).
