Juanas, Antonio
Juanas, Antonio, composer who flourished in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Although he spent much of his career in Mexico, he most likely was of Spanish birth. From about 1790 to 1816 he was maestro de capilla at the cathedral in Mexico City. In 1819 he settled in Spain. His notable output of Latin sacred works comprises over 200 compositions.
