Lauffensteiner, Wolff Jacob
Lauffensteiner, Wolff Jacob, Austrian lutenist and composer; b. Steyr (baptized), April 28, 1676; d. Munich, March 26, 1754. He went to Graz, where he was active as a lutenist by 1709. From 1712 to 1739 he was a valet and lutenist in the service of the Bavarian court in Munich. He was highly esteemed as both a lutenist and as a composer for the instrument.
