Morison, Elsie (Jean) (b Ballarat, 1924). Australian soprano. Début Melbourne 1944 (in Messiah). London début 1948 (in Acis and Galatea). In SW Opera Co. 1948–54 and at CG 1953–62, also many concert appearances in oratorio, etc. Sang Blanche in Eng. première of Les dialogues des Carmélites, CG 1958, and Anne Trulove in f. Brit. p. of The Rake's Progress by Glyndebourne at Edinburgh Fest. 1953 and at Glyndebourne 1954. Wife of Rafael Kubelik, whom she married in 1963.
