Nef, Isabelle (Lander)
Nef, Isabelle (Lander), Swiss harpsichordist, pianist, and teacher; b. Geneva, Sept. 27, 1898; d. Bossy, near Geneva, Jan. 2, 1976. She studied with Marie Panthès (piano) at the Geneva Cons., and with Philipp (piano), d’Indy (composition), and Landowska (harpsichord) in Paris. She made extensive concert tours of Europe, North and South America, South Africa, and Australia. In 1936 she was appointed the first prof, of harpsichord at the Geneva Cons.
