Pujol, Juan (Pablo)
Pujol, Juan (Pablo) , Catalan composer and organist; b. Barcelona, c. 1573; d. there, May 1626. From 1593 to 1595 he was maestro de canto at Tarragona Cathedral, and from 1596 to 1612 he was organist at Nuestra Senora del Pilar in Saragossa; then at the Barcelona Cathedral until his death. His masses, motets, Passions, Psalms, and villancicos are preserved in MS. A selected ed. of Pujol’s works was undertaken by H. Angles, of which 2 vols, appeared (1926, 1932).
