Saltzmann-Stevens, Minnie
Saltzmann-Stevens, Minnie , American soprano; b. Bloomington, 111., March 17, 1874; d. Milan, Jan. 25, 1950. She studied voice with Jean De Reszke in Paris. She made her operatic debut as Brünnhilde in the English version of the Ring at London’s Covent Garden in 1909; she continued to sing there until 1913; also appeared at the Bayreuth Festivals of 1911 and 1913. From 1911 to 1914 she sang with the Chicago Grand Opera. Her other roles included Kundry, Isolde, and Sieglinde.
