salbutamol (sal-bew-tă-mol) n. a drug that stimulates beta-adrenergic receptors (see sympathomimetic). It is administered by mouth, injection, or inhalation as a short-acting bronchodilator to relieve asthma and other reversible obstructive airways diseases. Trade names: Airomir, Asmasal, Clickhaler, Ventodisks, Ventolin, etc.
