Forman, John
Forman, John (fl. 1515–d. 1558). English mason. He worked under Lebons at Hampton Court Palace, and in c.1523 was appointed master-mason at York Minster. From 1525 he built the Church of St Michael-le-Belfry, York (completed 1536). He was involved in the redecoration of York Minster when Roman Catholicism was briefly restored in 1557 in the reign of Queen Mary I (1553–8).
