Thibiage,—De (fl. 1840s). French author, probably a pseudonym. His Histoire pittoresque et anecdotique des anciens châteaux, etc. (1846), was a significant catalyst in the Gothic Revival in France and, especially, Germany, where the book was published as Geschichte der berühmtesten Ritterburgen und Schlösser Frankreichs, Englands, Deutschlands, der Schweiz, etc. (History of the Most Celebrated French, English, German, Swiss, etc., Fortresses and Castles—1846).
