Alabama Horse Council Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support the education of an AHC members and their children. Focus: Equine studies. Qualif.: Applicants or their parents/grandparents must be current members of AHC; must be majoring in a field of study for a career in the equine industry; must have demonstrated record of activity in the equine industry prior to college application. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on their submitted applications.

Funds Avail.: $1000. To Apply: Applicants must submit 4 copies of: one page-cover form; two letters of references attesting to the applicant's commitment to the equine industry, activity in the industry and character; short (500 word maximum) essay about how horses have shaped the lives and the goals that applicant want to pursue in the horse industry; and a list of activities and honors received. Auburn Animal Science Department Graduate Student Scholarships (Graduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support students studying Animal Science. Focus: Animal science and behavior. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduate students in Auburn's Department of Animal Science; have strong background in Alabama's livestock industry; and have current research project involving beef or beef cattle. Criteria: Selection is based on merit.

Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To promote Veterinary Medicine education in Alabama. Focus: Veterinary science and medicine. Qualif.: Applicants must be currently enrolled at Auburn's College of Veterinary Medicine; must have strong background in Alabama's livestock industry; and intending to pursue a career involving large animal medicine. Criteria: Selection is based on merit.

Cecil Lane Family Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance and recognition to students with strong ties to the beef cattle industry. Focus: Agricultural sciences. Qualif.: Applicants must be resident of Alabama; must be incoming freshman at the Auburn University College of Agriculture; and must be children or grandchildren of ACA members for two consecutive years. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on their submitted applications.

Ina E. Powell Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for female students. Focus: Agricultural sciences; Forestry; Education—Curricula. Qualif.: Applicants must be female students from Alabama; must be high school seniors accepted at the Auburn University; must be planning to pursue agricultural-related courses at the College of Agriculture, School of Forestry and Wildlife sciences, College of Human Sciences or College of Education; must demonstrate leadership abilities; must have GPA of 3.0 or above; and must be children or grandchildren of ACA members for two consecutive years. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on their submitted applications.

Purpose: To support the education of AHC members and their children. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be high school senior and accepted to a 4-year university; must be children or grandchildren of ASA members for two consecutive years. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic excellence and leadership skills.

Troy University Rodeo Team Scholarships (Graduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist Alabama students with their education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be current members of the Troy University Rodeo Team; have strong background in Alabama's livestock industry; and must be children or grandchildren of ASA members for two consecutive years. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic excellence and leadership skills.

University of West Alabama Rodeo Team Scholarships (Graduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support the education of University of West Alabama Rodeo Team members. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be current members of the University of West Alabama Rodeo Team; have strong background in Alabama's livestock industry; and must be children or grandchildren of ASA members for two consecutive years. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic excellence and leadership skills.

Samuel Upchurch Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support the education of AHC members and their children. Focus: Agricultural economics; Animal science and behavior. Qualif.: Applicants must be children or grandchildren of ACA members for two consecutive years; and must be accepted in Animal Science or Agriculture Economics at Auburn University. Criteria: Preference is given to applicants whose parents are members of the Alabama Santa Gertrudis Association.

Ed Wadsworth Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support the education of AHC members and their children. Focus: Animal science and behavior. Qualif.: Applicants must be resident of Alabama; must be junior or senior in the Animal Sciences Department at Auburn University; involved in beef cattle production; have demonstrated leadership abilities; have a GPA of 3.0 and above; and must be children or grandchildren of ACA members for two consecutive years. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on their submitted applications.

The Wax Company Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To financially support students studying agriculture at the Auburn University. Focus: Agricultural sciences.

Qualif.: Applicants must be high senior or college students studying agriculture at the Auburn University; and must be children of ACA members. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on their submitted applications.

Funds Avail.: $1000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form. Deadline: December.
