Bob Adkins Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for qualified senior high school students from Point Pleasant High School. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a graduating senior from Point Pleasant High School; must have a minimum 2.0 GPA; must have financial need for assistance and must have participated in high school athletics (including team participation and/or support services to team, such as manager). Criteria: Selection of applicants will be based on the length of time and variety of sports participated in, participation in the school community, and financial need.

Funds Avail.: $250-$500. Martin K. Alsup Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for qualified high school seniors from Parkersburg High School. Focus: Music. Qualif.: Applicant must be a graduating senior from Parkersburg High School; must have a strong commitment to the field of instrumental music and music-related activities as demonstrated by participation in orchestra or the Big Red Band. Criteria: Preference is given to students interested in majoring in music.

Funds Avail.: $1,200. Purpose: To provide financial assistance for qualified students from Parkersburg, Parkersburg South, Parkersburg Catholic, or Williamstown High School. Focus: Ministry. Qualif.: Applicant must be a graduate from Parkersburg, Parkersburg South, Parkersburg Catholic, or Williamstown High School with the desire to further their education in the study of the Methodist Ministry. Criteria: Selection of applicants will be based on the application requirements and scholarship selection criteria.

Joe Barbarow Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial support for deserving graduate seniors at Parkersburg High School. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a high school graduating senior and must have attended Hamilton Junior High in Wood County. Criteria: Selection of applicants will be based on academic achievement, school citizenship, moral character, and financial need.

Funds Avail.: $760. Lewis and Gurry Batten Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for qualified senior high school at Parkersburg High School. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a Parkersburg High School graduating senior; must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA; and must be attending a four-year course in college or university. Criteria: Selection of recipients will be based on merit and financial need.

William (Billbo) Boston Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for qualified individuals intending to pursue their undergraduate degree. Focus: Computer and information sciences. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors or current undergraduates who previously graduated from a Wood County high school and are pursuing undergraduate degree in computer science at an accredited post-secondary school in West Virginia or Ohio with a minimum of 3.0 GPA. Criteria: Selection of recipients will be based on financial need, class rank, school activities, and achievement.

Funds Avail.: $450. Chester H. Bruce Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial support for qualified students of Wirt County High School. Focus: Christian education. Qualif.: Applicant must be a graduating senior of Wirt County High School; must be pursuing vocational or trade studies or Christian ministry or service; must be enrolled as a full-time student in an undergraduate two-or-four-year program or a vocational program or graduate school; must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA; and must have a strong work ethic. Criteria: Selection of recipients will be based on the scholarship selection criteria.

Bryce-Lietzke Martin Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for qualified individuals in Wood County. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a Wood County resident; must have an interest in golf; must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA; and must be accepted or attending a post-secondary education. Criteria: Selection of recipients will be based on good moral character, involvement in extracurricular activities, and financial need.

Freda Burge Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To encourage graduating students of William-stown High School to pursue their education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a Williamstown High School graduating senior; must be planning to attend West Virginia University-Parkersburg full-time; and must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA. Criteria: Selection of recipients will be based on financial need and application materials.

Funds Avail.: $600. George H. Clinton Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide support for graduating or graduate students from a Wood County, WV high school. Focus: Communications. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating or have graduated from a Wood County, WV, high school; must be attending college full-time and majoring in the media communications field; must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA. Criteria: Selection of applicants will be based on the scholarship selection criteria.

Dave Couch Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for qualified individuals intending to pursue studies involving massage therapy or physical or occupational therapy. Focus: Physical therapy; Occupational therapy. Qualif.: Applicant must be a resident of Wood, Wirt, Jackson, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Mason, Calhoun, Gilmer, or Doddridge in WV or Washington County, OH; must be actively pursuing a course of study involving massage therapy or physical or occupational therapy. Criteria: Selection of applicants will be based on personal commitment to service for individuals whose lives are affected by ALS or other neuromuscular or disabling disease, as evidenced by related volunteer or community service to individuals whose lives are affected by these diseases or for organizations serving individuals whose lives are affected.

Jennifer Coulter Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To encourage the graduating seniors of Parkersburg High School to pursue their career in teaching. Focus: Teaching. Qualif.: Applicant must be a graduating senior from Parkersburg High School interested in pursuing a career in teaching and must be involved in extracurricular and/or community service activities. Criteria: Selection of recipients will be based on academic achievement or potential to achieve academically with evidence of at least a 2.5 GPA, and financial need. Preference will be given to students who have displayed interest in foreign language study during their high school career.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. Cindy Curry Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To encourage the graduating students to pursue their education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating high school seniors from any Wood County high school; must be planning to attend an accredited West Virginia college or university full-time; must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA; and must have a strong motivation to attend school. Criteria: Recipients will be selected based on the scholarship selection criteria.

Criteria: Recipients will be selected based on financial need, academic achievement, potential and character.

Lawrence E. Davis Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To encourage the graduating seniors of Parkers-burg High School to pursue their education in either the state of West Virginia or Ohio. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors from Park-ersburg High School who have been admitted to attend an accredited four-year institution of higher education in either the state of West Virginia or Ohio as full-time students, with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Criteria: Selection of recipients will be based on financial need.

Funds Avail.: $900. Doddridge County Promise Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To encourage the graduating students of Doddridge County High School to pursue their education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating high school seniors or graduates of Doddridge County High School who have been admitted to the college of their choice; must have a GPA of 3.2 or above, be in the top 20% of the class, ACT of 21 or above or SAT of 1100 or above; must have followed a college-bound curriculum; and must have financial need. Criteria: Recipients will be selected based on the evaluation of the scholarship selection committee.

Funds Avail.: $500-$1,000. Deborah Gandee Dudding Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for qualified graduating seniors at Ravenswood High School. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a Ravenswood High School graduating senior; must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA. Criteria: Preference will be given to students with financial need who have exhibited a record of community service, a balance of academic and extracurricular interest, and a commitment to the growth, development, and/or the well-being of children.

Criteria: Selection of applicants will be based on financial need and academic achievements.

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for qualified individuals intending to pursue their education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be students who are actively enrolled, or have been enrolled, in the foster care system; must be WV residents; must be admitted to a course of study at a post-high school educational institution for the upcoming year. Criteria: Selection of applicants will be based on academic promise, good character, good citizenship and financial need.

William E. “Bill” Gallagher Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for qualified graduating seniors at Parkersburg South High School. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors at Parkersburg South High School who have been admitted to attend Glenville State College in Glen-ville, WV, or Alderson Broaddus College in Philippi, WV. Criteria: Selection of applicants will be based on the knowledge and a love of people as attested to by the guidance counselors and as evidenced by candidate's participation in extracurricular activities and community service.

Funds Avail.: $500.
