Ballesteros, Severiano
Ballesteros, Severiano (1957– ) Spanish golfer. After capturing the Spanish Young Professional title (1974), he won the British Open (1979) as the youngest champion this century, and in 1980 became the youngest player to win the US Masters. Regarded as one of the most exciting golfers of his era, he won the Masters again in 1983 and the British Open in 1984 and 1988. He was an inspiring member of the European Ryder Cup teams from 1985, and captained them to victory in 1997.
