Botham, Ian Terence
Botham, Ian Terence (1955– ) English cricketer. He made his county debut for Somerset in 1974, and had an auspicious test debut against Australia in 1977. Botham was one of cricket's greatest all-rounders, scoring 5200 runs in 102 tests (14 centuries, highest score 208) and taking 383 test wickets (average 28.40, best 13 for 106). In 1979, he became the first player to score a century and take ten wickets in a test (Bombay, India). In 1981 he almost single-handedly helped England regain the Ashes, scoring 149 not out at Headingley.
