Dollar, battle of
Dollar, battle of, c.875. The battle, east of Alloa, Scotland, was a crushing defeat for Constantine I of Alba by the Norsemen, led by Halfdan of York. The whole northern part of Scotland was conceded to the invaders. Though the chronology is very doubtful, the reality of serious warfare is clear.
