Dupplin Moor, battle of, 1332. Edward Balliol, supported by Edward III, claimed the throne of Scotland after the death of Robert I Bruce. On 11 August 1332 he was victorious at Dupplin Moor, on the river Earn outside Perth, over a much larger force led by Donald, earl of Mar, regent for the young David II. Mar was killed and Balliol was crowned at Scone the following month.
