McArthur, Archibald
McARTHUR, ARCHIBALD. British officer. Promoted to captain of the Fifty-fourth Foot on 1 September 1771 and to major of the Seventy-first Foot on 16 November 1777, he was captured at Cowpens on 17 January 1781. On 24 April 1781 he was made lieutenant of the Third Battalion of the Sixtieth (Royal Americans) (Ford, British Officers).
