Vistula (Wisla) Longest river in Poland. It rises in the Carpathian Mountains of w Poland and flows nw through Warsaw, then nw through Toruń to enter the Gulf of Danzig at Gdańsk. The major waterway of Poland, it serves a large area through a tributary system. Canals link it with other important rivers both e and w. Length: 1090km (675mi).
