Krishnagar
Krishnagar (krĬsh´nəgər), city (1991 pop. 121,110), West Bengal state, E central India, on the Jalangi River. It is a district administrative center and a road and rail junction. The main products of the area are rice, jute, sugar, ceramics, and plywood; sugarmilling is the largest industry. Krishnagar was the residence of the rajas of the former princely state of Nadia.
