Vonn, Lindsey Caroline
Lindsey Caroline Vonn, 1984–, American skier, b. St. Paul, Minn., as Lindsey Caroline Kildow, married U.S. skier Thomas Vonn, 2007–13. She competed in her first World Cup event in 2000 and since then has become the only American to win four overall World Cup titles (2008–10, 2012) and to win races in all five Alpine skiing categories. She also is the only American who has won 40 or more World Cup races. She passed the 50-wins mark in 2012 and 60-wins in 2014; her 63d win in 2015 broke the World Cup record for women. In 2010 Vonn won the downhill gold and super G bronze at the Winter Olympics.
