Kār sevā
Kār sevā (Pañjābī, kār, ‘work’, + sevā, ‘service’). Voluntary work undertaken by Sikhs for the good of the community. In particular, it has come to be applied to the work undertaken each fifty years of clearing silt from the pool of the Harimandir (Golden Temple).
