Śrotāpanna
Śrotāpanna (Skt.; Pāli, sotāpanna). ‘One who has entered the stream’, the beginning of the Buddhist way. A ‘stream-enterer’ is free from the three fetters (saṃyojana), but not yet from the passions (kleśa). He will have to be born in a new appearance at least seven more times, but these will always be in the higher domains (gati), and not in hell, or as an animal, etc.
