DIODORUS OF SICILY°
DIODORUS OF SICILY ° (first century b.c.e.), author of a world history (called the "Library") in 40 books, from the creation of the world to Caesar's conquest of Britain in 54 b.c.e. Hecataeus of Abdera was the source for his account of the Jews (40. frag. 2). Diodorus notes that "Moyses" claimed to have received his laws from the god named Iao. He also provided a narrative on the capture of Jerusalem by the Romans in 63 b.c.e.
