HIRSHFIELD, MORRIS
HIRSHFIELD, MORRIS (1872–1946), U.S. primitive painter. Born in Poland, he immigrated to America and went into the slipper producing business. At the age of sixty-five he retired and began to paint. He completed seventy-four pictures, some very large. He painted female nudes and animal subjects.
