Harpadontidae (Bombay duck; subclass Actinopterygii, order Myctophiformes) A family of marine and brackish-water fish that have a torpedo-shaped body, a compressed head with small eyes and a large mouth, a single dorsal and an adipose fin, and a trilobed tail fin. There are three species, of commercial value, in the Indo-Pacific region.
