Hypoxis
Hypoxis (family Amaryllidaceae) A genus of herbaceous plants that have a bulbous root stock and long, linear leaves arising from the base of the plant. The inflorescence is an umbel on a long, leafless, flower stalk. There are about 80 species. The genus is represented in America, Africa, eastern Asia, and Australia.
