oreodont A member of an extinct N. American group of artiodactyls, which may have been related to the entelodonts, pigs, and peccaries, but which had selenodont molars, suggesting that in fact they were ruminating swine. See also AGRIOCHOERIDAE; MERYCOIDODONTIDAE.
