Schizophyllaceae (order Aphyllophorales) A family of fungi in which the fruit bodies bear characteristic longitudinally divided gills. Schizophyllum commune forms fan-shaped fruit bodies that are attached on one side to the substrate. It is found on wood and is common in Europe, especially in the south.
