Giacomo Bartolomeo Beccari

Italian physician and naturalist who is known for his studies in sexual functioning, phosphorescence (the property of something giving off light without noticeable combustion or heat), the chemical composition of wheat and milk, and the effect of light on silver salts. He was a professor of physics at the Institute of Science and Art, a professor of medicine at the University of Bologna, and was the first professor of chemistry in Italy.
