Lafon, Madeleine (1924–1967)
French ballet dancer . Born 1924, in Paris, France; died April 6, 1967, in Paris; trained with Boris Kniaseff, Alexander Volinine, Lyubov Egorova, and at Paris Opéra.
Began performing Paris Opéra company (late 1940s), where she created lead roles in 4th movement of Balanchine's Le Palais de Crystal (1947), Gsovsky's La Dame aux Camilias, and Lifar's Mirages(1947); performed to great acclaim in other works by Lifar, including his Suite en Blanc, and in Juan Corelli's Le Combat de Tancrède et Clorinde; taught at Paris Opéra's school after 1963.
