Chinese gymnast. Born Mar 12, 1979, in Changsha, Hunan Province, China.
At World championships, won a gold medal for balance beam (1996) and a bronze for team all-around (1997); won East Asian Games (1997), Asian Games and CHN nationals (1998); at Sydney Olympics, won a gold medal for balance beam and bronze medals for indiv. and team all-around, the 1st Chinese female to win an indiv. all-around medal at Olympics (2000); was the 1st female to perform a onearm giant swing on uneven bars; retired (2001).
